CYT Theater Classes
Enrollment Information
We offer core and specialty theater training classes in four areas around the Kansas City area! To find information about your area, click on a button to the left. Our classes meet on Mondays or Thursdays depending on which area you enroll.
To register for our classes on-line, first create a MYCYT account found by clicking on the MY CYT link above. After creating this account, you will have access to enroll students, read Area Coordinator Notes for both classes and/or productions and purchase tickets. If you have questions about enrollment, please call the office at (913) 681-3318.
Age Requirements
We offer classes for students ages 5-18. Our younger students ages 5-12 and older students ages 12-18 meet at the same location but at different class times. Students must be the exact age required or turning that age during that specific session in order to enroll in classes.
For example:
If a student is wanting to enroll in a class marked (12-18), then he/she must be 12 or turning 12 during the dates of that session.
If a student is wanting to enroll in a class marked (12-18), then he/she must be 18 on the day class begins in order to enroll in that session.
Our Class Showcase Performances
Mark your calendars for your student's Showcase performance! This is an opportunity for your student to shine and show parents a snapshot of what they have learned during their class. Showcases are on the last day of the session. Your Area Coordinator will be sending out information to all enrolled families about this exciting event.
Class Confirmation
Class confirmation emails will be sent prior to the first class night. Download the confirmation page from your MyCYT family page.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
We reserve the right to cancel any course with fewer than eight students enrolled. Should we cancel a course due to low enrollment, you will receive 48 hours notice to choose another class or receive a full refund.
If you withdraw your child from a course prior to the first day of class, your tuition will be refunded
less a $15 processing fee. No refunds or pro-rates will be given after the first class or to a student who auditions for a show.
Registration Information
Classes and teachers are subject to change. If a class fills, waiting lists will be kept and students enrolled in the order that a registration was received if an opening becomes available.
Auditioning for a musical production
Students ages 8-18 and enrolled in classes, are eligible to audition for any of the productions for
that term. We encourage all students to audition for one of our productions each session! For more information, please see our Audition Information

Scholarships
CYT offers scholarships for tuition assistance for families with various levels of income. Eligibility will be determined through a financial formula based on income and number of children in your household. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and must be requested by the Deadline Date listed below. You may download the Financial Aid Form or call 913-681-3318 to request a scholarship application.

Special Needs Program- H.E.A.R.T. (Helping to Encourage Awareness and Recognition in Theatre)
