"The Music Man"

All of these shows have amazing choreography, and ballet technique and training are the basis for all forms of dance!
If you love ballet (or you want to learn more), this ballet class is for YOU! CYT Kansas City's Artistic Director, Gina Milbourn, is passionate about ballet, and she will teach this class.

Gina's love for ballet started at the young age of nine when Gina began training with Halcyon Perlman in Columbia, Missouri. Halcyon was a student of the great Russian ballerina, Alexandra Danilova (for more information, see https://www.britannica.com/biography/Alexandra-Danilova). Gina trained at the Washington School of Ballet in Washington, D.C. and also danced with the Westport Ballet Company in Kansas City. Now, Gina is blessed to teach ballet classes to CYT Dance Studio staff.

We look forward to having you in class on June 27th at 2:30 pm via Zoom!
Prerequisite: Have at least taken a Ballet 2 class!

Teacher:

Gina Milbourn

Gina began ballet at age 9 in her hometown of Columbia, Missouri. Her teacher, Halcyon Perlman, inspired Gina to love the discipline of ballet and the craft of theatre throughout her years in high school. Gina received her BFA in Theatre at Texas Christian University in 1980 (go Frogs!) and an Associate of Arts from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. She got her Equity Card while performing as Chava at Dallas Summer Musicals in “Fiddler on the Roof” with Herschel Bernardi. When Gina moved back to Kansas City, she choreographed “Pippin” at Shawnee Mission Theatre in the Park. It is then that God brought Kevin Milbourn into her life (Kevin portrayed Lewis in the show). After Kevin and Gina married, they had four beautiful and talented children - Andrew, Kelsey, Delaney and Mackenna. In 2001, God called Gina to serve as Artistic Director of CYT Kansas City. All of the Milbourn children developed their love for theatre at CYT, and all four of them graduated with BFA’s in Theatre from TCU (go Frogs!) and all of them have careers in theatre! Gina is so grateful for God’s guidance and provision throughout her life!
